Lover’s Leap

Iconic climbing area for the Tahoe area. The leap offers mostly 2-3 pitch trad routes with some bouldering around the campground.

Access: HWY 50, Exit at Strawberry Lodge. Hike in from campground

Parking: $10 day parking, $28 overnight camping. Limited parking in the surrounding neighborhood is ALL on private property, so please be respectful. Park head in, off of the road in the one area next to the ‘pond’ on Strawberry Lane; or park along the highway side and fence line near the closed Lodge. Carpool or leave extra vehicles at Strawberry Station.

Facilities: Camping, Strawberry Lodge. Restrooms and water available at campground but are seasonally closed. Please plan to bring plenty of water and pack out waste when campground is closed. Gear and guidebooks available at Strawberry Station

Food & Drink: Quality snacks, drinks, and coffee at Strawberry Station. Bear boxes at campsites.

Falcon Closures: *Peregrine Falcons are nesting right of Eagle Buttress* PLEASE AVOID ALL routes on the Central Wall formation from Rated X to the Hourglass inclusive. Climbing closure includes all Rated X, all Eagle Buttress and all Hourglass routes.

All falcon closures are temporary and will be lifted as soon as possible pending local regulations and monitoring of the behavioral ecological conditions of the birds. Please remember that drones should not be flown in areas with nesting closures, thanks.
