Steve Schwortz (he/him)
President / Lover’s Leap Area Lead
This is my 29th year climbing and 19th climbing at Lover’s Leap and the other areas on Highway 50 and around Tahoe. I’ve been guiding for over 15 years - my 9th year here at the Leap for Lover’s Leap Guides. We’ve seen a lot of changes - both good and bad; increasing impacts and good people stepping up to help out. We’re here to help - we work behind the scenes on policy and advocacy with our land managers and partner organizations both national and local; we work boots on the ground doing trailwork, monitoring falcons and other bird species, helping remove invasives and planting trees, maintaining anchors and cleaning the campgrounds in the off-season. We do a lot but we need YOUR help too. Join CRAGS and the Access Fund, send a donation, volunteer for a work day, come to our fundraisers and social events!

Sarah Alkadri
While taking a break from her career, Sarah has decided to dedicate her time to giving back to the climbing communities that have had a profound impact on her life. Over the past two decades, she has witnessed the climbing community’s rapid growth in both population and popularity. Now, she is committed to preserving climbing environments and reshaping climbing culture to foster a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

Will Botta (he/him)
Area Lead
Will loves to climb obscurities, work on his cabin and house and can be found working at Pipeworks, often with his awesome dog!
-

Chris Noey (he/him)
Treasurer
Chris handles much of our back end financial, insurance and legal work. It’s a -big- job. Don’t underestimate how much behind the scenes stuff happens. It takes dedicated board members like Chris to make it happen.
-
Ryan Quigley (he/him)
Tech Support
Without Ryan we’d have a much harder time keeping our web, email, slack, social and other tech sorted out. Behind the scenes work takes time and effort - it’s what we often tend to over the winter - and Ryan helps us keep it all running.

Kinsey Tarplee (he/him)
Auburn Quarry Area Lead
Kinsey works at Pipeworks where he holds it down for many of Sacramento’s climbers. You can find him both on the rock and at our events. We’re gearing up for a big project at Auburn. Ask him about it.
